Revival is coming to Moldova!

We had a blessed time with the women leaders from the Chisinau area. Connie taught on leadership. Marci shared about hospitality, and Marie spoke on motivational gifts and the role of women in the bible.

Working at the Raatz' home

We had a lot of fun working together in Andy and Nancy's home! We organized, painted and sewed curtains for the Home of Hope. It was three busy days.

Home of Hope

The Home of Hope construction is progressing. There was a team of 24 that left the day we flew in. They worked hard to put up walls, sheet rock, tape and mud. There is still more to do. We will not be painting in the Home of Hope due to construction, but we are making curtains for the kitchen, bedrooms and living room. Our plan is to paint and help the Raatz family with their own home.

These are several pictures from the festival in Chisinau. It was a very cold day - 40 degrees with wind chill - brrrrrrr!

We have arrived! The flight was long, but uneventful - which is a good thing. We had a 7 hour layover in Frankfurt. The airport had recliner loungers placed in a relatively obscure place that enabled some of us take a much needed nap. All of our luggage arrived in Chisinau, PTL! We also went through customs with very little problem. One team member was taken into a room and was repeatedly asked for money, but she handled it very well. She kept saying "I do not understand" and they quickly let her go through.

Our accomodations are wonderful! Very clean and comfortable. We all slept well and have been fed well. Moldova is a land of contrasts with old apartments and laundry hanging on balconies to beautiful rose gardens. We are blessed to be here.

Today we had a spa event for area women missionaries. It was great fun and a blessing to those women that attended. We did manicures, hand treatments, back massages, gave gift bags, ate great food and were able to pray for the women that were here.

I will send pictures with the next posting - my batteries died in my camera and the new ones are back with my luggage. Tomorrow we go to church. Three of us will sing and two women will be giving a testimony. Pray that the Lord would use us for His glory.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Chisinau, Moldova. Settle in and dinner with the Raatz family.

Day 2
Day spent at the Raatz home preparing for the evening event for Missionary Ladies to Moldova. The plan is for a spa night of pampering, relaxation and fun for the women.

Day 3
Church service at Viata Noua (New Life) Church. Two women will give testimonies and special music will be shared. The remainder of the day will be spent in the city. This is a big celebration day called "The Day of the City".

Day 4, 5, and 6
Working in the House of Hope with painting, cleaning, making curtains and putting away items brought from Inverhills Church.

Day 7
This day will be spent touring the countryside and visiting a Monastery.

Day 8 and 9
Leadership seminar for approximately 30 women leaders. The topics covered will include leadership, prayer journaling, inductive bible study, accountability, hospitality and women in ministry in the Bible.

Day 10
Church Service in Nisporeni. Back to Chisinau for the afternoon.

Day 11
Travel home.
